Bio
After many attempts over my formative years, I finally learned to crochet and knit from my mother while I was in college. As I sat around with my friends watching television it seemed natural to do something that occupied my hands, and crochet (at first, knitting a couple of years later) filled that need. Since that time, I have been a sometime knitter, meaning that I go to a yarn store, buy a lot of pretty yarn, start many projects and finish a few of them from time to time, leaving the rest gathering dust in my stash. I can't even count the number of sweaters, scarves and socks scattered around in different stages that need my attention (most of which are now in the frog pond as I have found more exciting patterns to make). I don't crochet as much as I used to, but when I do I end up making afghans that are more likely to be finished because they end up as gifts with a date certain for completion.

In December 2006 my interest in knitting was renewed, partly by my mother and sister who were both working on projects during the holiday, as well as by BronxKnit, my boyfriend, who decided to learn around that same time. Thus came a litany of small projects (mostly hats and scarves) that reminded me that it is possible to finish a knitted project once in a while.

BronxKnit and I put our stashes together in late July 2007. Prior to that, I had a yarn stash at my apartment as well as at his place. I also have a yarn stash at my parents' house in Massachusetts, which will soon become my Southern stash as it (and my parents) move to Tennessee in February 2008.

I have decided to start my catalog of projects in this LJ with the year 2007. It would take me far too long to dig out every sweater, scarf, hat and purse that I have knit or every afghan that I have crocheted over the years to photograph and attempt to recall what yarn(s) and patterns I used. Also, there is the issue of the items that I have gifted- I don't necessarily have pictures or information on those either.

And yes, both BronxKnit and I are on Ravelry.
